Carol Frank, Artist

About the Artist

I have always created art in the form of drawing, painting and sculpture. While growing up, art classes in school were never long enough to satisfy my love of creating and learning new techniques.

I have a BFA from the University of Utah; and was a Designer-Craftsman major studying jewelry making, sculpture, weaving, and printmaking.  While I loved jewelry making and printmaking, I decided to only make art that took minimal equipment, and that was portable.  My introduction to working with fabric was learning off-loom techniques of trapunto in my weaving class in college. I love working with textiles, dyeing my own fabric, and using surface design techniques.

Everything in my web site Gallery to date is textile mixed media and art quilts. In my past I have enjoyed metalworking and jewelry making; I have come back to this love and have started a body of work in this media. I show jewelry for sale in a new Gallery page entitled “Jewelry Love Design Gallery”.

Please Note: Until my Etsy shop is set up next month, if you are interested in purchasing any of my jewelry pieces, please contact me by email at carol@caroldfrankart.com.
